Aims and Scope
Earth and Planetary Science (EPS; ISSN 2810-9732) is an international, gold open access journal that publishes both primary research and review papers on the study of Earth and planetary systems. Our goal is to foster research that adopts a systemic approach, addressing not only processes within individual layers but also the intricate interactions and feedback mechanisms that characterize complex planetary systems, transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries. EPS is committed to disseminating cutting-edge scientific ideas supported by robust multidisciplinary observations.
Within the Earth System science, we welcome contributions related to various planetary layers, including the core, mantle, and crust, as well as the hydrosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, magnetosphere, and the interplay among these components. The Planetary System Science component of EPS' scope includes the study of celestial bodies beyond Earth. This encompasses planets, moons, asteroids, comets, meteoroids, dust, and exoplanetary systems. We encourage research that explores the formation, evolution, and dynamics of planetary bodies, as well as that of their environments.
The scope of Earth and Planetary Science encompasses a wide array of geoscience and planetary science disciplines, including, but not limited to:
Our journal invites researchers from across the globe to submit their work for publication, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in Earth and planetary sciences. We encourage innovative and interdisciplinary research that expands the horizons of our understanding of these complex systems.
Earth and Planetary Science is a Gold open access journal, which makes the final version of an article freely and permanently accessible for everyone, immediately after publication. All articles published in the Journal are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which means all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution.
