Abstract
This study investigates the role of e-training in enhancing digital competency and employee engagement and how these factors contribute to sustainable organizational performance within Indonesia's rattan micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Utilizing a quantitative research design and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS), data were collected from 200 employees of rattan MSMEs who had participated in digital-based training programs. The findings reveal that e-training significantly improves digital competencies and employee engagement, both of which are crucial drivers of organizational sustainability. Dynamic Capability Theory highlights the importance of adapting competencies in response to environmental changes. This research provides theoretical contributions by extending these frameworks into the traditional craft sector and offers practical insights for digital human resource development in MSMEs. Specifically, it emphasizes the importance of contextualized training approaches tailored to local cultural and technological conditions. The results support e-training as a strategic tool for driving digital transformation and long-term sustainability, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 4 and 8. By focusing on rattan MSMEs, this study fills a notable gap in the literature and demonstrates how digital interventions can empower traditional industries in a technology-driven era.
