Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The transition toward net-zero emissions is creating new challenges and opportunities for marine and offshore engineering. Future maritime infrastructure must combine structural safety and durability with advanced materials, renewable-energy technologies, environmentally responsible manufacturing, and efficient life-cycle management. This Special Issue aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for recent advances in sustainable marine and offshore structures, with particular emphasis on integrating structural mechanics, material innovation, and low-carbon energy technologies.

Contributions are invited on advanced and environmentally sustainable materials; structural integrity, ultimate strength, fatigue, corrosion, buckling, collision, and grounding; marine renewable-energy structures; offshore wind, wave, tidal and ocean thermal energy systems; sustainable ship structures; offshore hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization and storage infrastructure; subsea pipelines, mooring systems and floating platforms; and structural resilience under extreme environmental conditions.

Studies employing finite element analysis, fluid–structure interaction, structural optimization, reliability analysis, digital twins, artificial intelligence,experimental testing, and life-cycle assessment are particularly encouraged.

The Special Issue will provide a forum connecting advances in materials, structural engineering, renewable energy, and sustainable manufacturing to accelerate the development of safer, more resilient, and lower-carbon marine infrastructure.

Please visit the Submissions Guidelines page before submitting a manuscript.Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Manuscripts should be submitted online through the Online Submission System.Additionally, please include a Cover Letter specifying that the manuscript is intended for the Special Issue "Net-Zero Marine and Offshore Structures: Advanced Materials, Structural-Design Integrity, and Renewable Energy Integration" when submitting it online.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Special Issue website.
