Special Issue Information

Modern agriculture, characterized by intensive mechanization, the use of synthetic inputs, genetic modification, and large-scale monoculture, has significantly increased food production and efficiency, contributing to food security and economic development. The environmental effects of modern agriculture, such as soil degradation, water pollution, biodiversity loss, and greenhouse gas emissions, pose significant challenges to sustainability. The economic impacts of modern agriculture are multifaceted, encompassing productivity gains, market integration, technological innovation, income distribution, environmental sustainability, and the role of government policies. Balancing the economic benefits of modern agriculture with environmental conservation and social equity requires adopting more sustainable practices, such as agroecology, organic farming, and precision agriculture, to ensure the long-term resilience and viability of agricultural systems. The proposed special issue aims to investigate the economic and environmental effects of modern agriculture. Authors are invited to submit original research articles, reviews, mini-reviews, and perspectives covering the following topics:
